Whether you are enthusiastic about social media or scared within an inch of your life about logging onto Twitter or Facebook, our Digital Clinic is here to help. We are all facing the same pressure to keep up with the frequent changes and demands of the various online applications and digital platforms. Campbell X, an experienced digital strategist and award-winning filmmaker, is here to answer your questions, no matter how trivial, about using social media on your creative journey.
Q: How many times a day should I tweet?
Campbell X: With the overwhelming amount of tweets per day on your timeline, it is often difficult to decide how often to tweet. The best way to know how often to tweet, or even when to tweet, is to use a tool like Buffer which gives you an indication of the best times to tweet. You have to use trial and error to find out which ones work for you.
You cannnot overtweet if your tweets are relevant, informative and/or entertaining.
Tweeting is about:
1. Broadcasting – this is done when you share your blog, images or videos.
2. Sharing/Retweeting – you can share links, images, files or retweet (RT) other people’s statuses or tweets.
3. Engaging – you can reply to tweets for people who write something you are interested in on Twitter. Please follow the simple rules of Twitter etiquette and avoid flaming or spamming people with your tweets.
